I am an Independent Celebrant, conducting wedding ceremonies, celebrations of life, naming ceremonies, elopements, renewal of vows and funeral services, all personalised to you – covering Gloucestershire, Cotswolds and beyond. I feel so lucky to have been part of so many special occasions, helping couples, their families, and friends celebrate love and important milestones in a fun and memorable way. In addition, I am professionally trained (Academy of Professional Celebrants), formerly a Registrar with over 13 years of experience.

How I work with you

I offer an exploration FREE call, then if you want to go ahead, I will issue a contract, GDPR form to complete which shows my insurance/liability. Then once the deposit is paid, the date is secured. I will then work with you to meet up face to face or over Teams to find out more about you both. I will draft a script and then arrange to re meet you to go over the 1st draft. We can then add, amend, remove or update things. I will ensure the sign off of the script is completed around 6-8 weeks before the date of the ceremony to give you peace of mind to concentrate on all the other organising and confirming needed. Always on the end of phone/text/email to answer anything!....

The ceremony we create lasts a lifetime in your memories. With my extensive experience, I can work closely with you to provide valuable advice and guidance. I'll help you plan out how your ceremony will be structured and presented. I can provide ideas and suggestions. For instance, I can explain how handfasting, sand ceremony, ring warming or unity candles might be part of the ceremony. Once I get to know what your vibe is, I can offer suggestions at this stage.

With over 13 years experience as a Registrar, I’ve officiated at hundreds of weddings across Gloucestershire. With its range of amazing Barns, Hotels, Castles, etc the list is endless for this gorgeous county to give you the venue right for you!
I wanted to go the “extra mile” to give couples a more personalised ceremony and one to remember! I have worked with couples at all ages, backgrounds and ethnicities, children at all ages; even the odd Alpaca or owl too! So, Wed by Lisa was created to offer non legal ceremonies held anywhere, any time, any day.

The Registrar handles the paperwork, I handle the magic. Registrars give you the paperwork; I give you a ceremony you won’t forget. Marriage is made legal by Registrars, but it’s made meaningful by a celebrant-led ceremony. Please note that celebrant-led ceremonies in England are not legally binding, and couples must complete the legal registration of their marriage at a register office. The legal words are the same, but I write the words for you only!

You’re in very safe, experienced pair of hands! But more importantly, I make it my business to really get to know you and help you create the perfect ceremony. I’m passionate about the ceremonies I undertake. And it’s also about the little things, too. I have a real eye for detail, so I always ensure I’m early to every ceremony and even ensure that my outfit is coordinated to your colour scheme! A commemorative certificate is included for you to sign with up to 4 witnesses as a keepsake. No questionnaire sent, all face to face meetings.
